A self-hosted Netflix for my backups

Netflix and streaming services are great, besides having to pay for them monthly. I'm sure most of us have tons of old DVDs and CDs that are just collecting dust, which are relatively easy to back up. I did some research for curiosity's sake and found a number of projects to self host these media backups, which landed me at Jellyfin. This project was a pretty big learning curve for me, it was my first main production environment to manage with all kinds of moving pieces. To use this I had to learn a reverse proxy (nginx), Docker, ffmpeg, and DNS support with Cloudflare. After a few months I figured everything out in a way that the server would run, but not without a few issues. I dealt with some silly issues like needing to restart the server manually every few days, GPU transcoding, etc for a year or two before fully restarting the project with my newfound knowledge I had gained. In its current state the server has never been better, it is as simple as just putting the content in the folder I point the server to and then clicking play!
